Comparison of living plants showed that several different and well separable morphotypes were involved under name Allium akaka. True Allium akaka growth in historical Iranian province Gilan, and are characterized by whitish or pinkish, ovate-elliptic, obtuse (but with plicate apex) tepals remaining straight also after anthesis, short filaments without coloured upper part.
